The long wait is over for Tokyo Ghoul fans. Episode 1 was released on 4/3/2018 with much fanfare. In episode 1 we are introduced to the Quinx squad of the CCG. They are led by squad leader (captain) Kuki Urie and mentored by Haise Sasaki, well, that is what he is calling himself now (hint hint). The first episode obviously takes place after the fall of Anteiku. During the anime you will see things that elude to the second season of Tokyo Ghoul (Hide's missing poster in the alley) and even the first season....
With the start of Tokyo Ghoul:re season 2 (or season 4 if you have followed along), fall of 2018 fans will look forward to the upcoming sequel to the live action movie. (set to release in 2019)
Fans will enjoy the story, although if you haven't seen Tokyo Ghoul it may be hard to follow without the backstory. This will definitely be on our watch list this season, as it should be on yours.
New viewers of Tokyo Ghoul will need to catch up of the previous seasons before jumping into Tokyo Ghoul:re.
