Well, here we are, a new season and a new batch of reviews. First up is Kono yo no hate de koi wo utau shoujo YU-NO or Yuno: A girl who chants love at the bound of this world, based off the visual novel adventure game by ELF Corporation. The original version of which, was a bit racy for the time due to sexual content. It was originally released on PC-98 home computer platform in Japan and then the Sega Saturn and Windows (with the removal of the sexual content). 5pb has created a remake for PSVita and the Playstation 4 in 2017 and plans on releasing a newer version that follows the anime closer later this year.
The story follows Takuya Arima, who father has recently been declared dead. One day Takuya receives a package, from his father. The letter includes his father's theory on parallel universes. The next day he receives another package that contains a strange device that is suppose to help him travel to these various universes.
This story has intrigue and action not to mention a strong hint of a harem (All but one of Takuya's friends are girls/women). We watched this and couldn't help reminiscing about Steins;gate and some of the similarities. We were convinced in the first episode that this anime will be one that we are going to follow (okay, we're suckers for harems). We also enjoyed that despite the harem aspect, the fan service was kept much lower than normal harem anime. So, if time travel, parallel universes adventure type anime are what interests you, this anime won't disappoint.
